Brunch in Santa Barbara

Brunch in Santa Barbara

California is huge, and there is so much to see! In just a couple hours I can be in the desert, the mountains, and the beach. It’s amazing, and I love it.  A couple weeks ago, I headed up to Santa Barbara for the weekend for a wedding. We drove up Highway 1, which is one of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever done.

The whole weekend was so much fun. The wedding was beautiful, and it was great exploring a new part of my new state. We spent the morning before the wedding wandering around State Street in search of mimosas — we were there for a wedding after all! We stumbled across The Andersen’s Restaurant and Bakery, the cutest Danish bakery with a great outdoor seating area and something called a Viking Mimosa. We were sold.

I have been living in this outfit since I got this shirt a few weeks ago. I’m a little embarrassed about how many times I’ve worn it, honestly. It’s so incredibly comfortable, and paired with the vest it’s the perfect outfit to beat the morning chill we have been feeling in California!

After perusing all the amazing goodies in the bakery (seriously, if you go, you have to try the merengue) and trying to decide what to order from the menu, I opted for strawberries and cream and the biggest croissant I’ve ever seen.

It didn’t disappoint.

After filling up on pastries and mimosas, we set off to enjoy the morning and walk around a bit before we getting ready for the wedding.

Santa Barbara really is gorgeous. The architecture is a mix of what us East Coasters picture as quintessential Old California and Spanish Mission Style.

I didn’t want to leave. I could have spent days exploring Santa Barbara and not gotten my fill.
