Happy Friday! It’s been a great couple weeks in DC, I’m so happy I got to spend time with great friends and eat at some of my favorite spots. I have an unexpected trip to Boston tonight to spend Easter and some extra time with my family while my grandmother isn’t well. It’s times like these when I’m especially thankful for this little blog and for all of you, it allows me the flexibility to hop around a bit more than most people and be with family when it’s most important!
There is a lot going on right now and most of it is still pretty up in the air so I’m going to hold off on sharing it for a little while but I’m pretty excited about whats coming in the next few months so stay tuned! In the meantime, here’s a little weekend reading and link love vol 19 to get you through your Friday!
1 // Tulum has been on my travel radar for quite some time now, after seeing this post it’s moving higher and higher up that list!
2 // I’m seriously loving Ann Taylor these days, I’ve been looking to stock up on some new office essentials and am kind of swooning over pretty much everything! Also did you see how fab my dear friend Lauren looks on their home page?!
3 // Did anyone else know how hard it was going to be making friends once you graduated college? I definitely didn’t! I love this guide.
4 // YES!!! I absolutely love this post about how every NYC RomCom is full of sh*t in the same way, I feel like it applies to most cities. Where are all these amazing loft apartments, with incredible views, right downtown, that are affordable on an entry level salary without 17 roommates? Please enlighten me, Hollywood.
5 // Need a little bit of positivity in your life? Amanda is sharing an amazing podcast that I’m definitely going to check out! Let me know what you think about it.
Don’t forget to check out Nicole’s cleanse I’m starting in a couple weeks, think you need to reboot your health this spring? Join me it’s going to be awesome

Four days, one train, three flights, one unexpected hospital stay and night in Atlanta later I am finally in Cuenca getting ready to celebrate our first exchange student’s wedding! I’ve said it before but I am continually amazed at how being an exchange student changed my life, 8 years later I’m heading back to Ecuador to meet my family and see the first student we hosted get married! Definitely worth all the travel hiccups I’ve had this week!
After a long week I am looking forward to an unplugged weekend with my family before heading to DC next week! I hope y’all had a lovely week, the weather was amazing seemingly everywhere so hopefully you’re enjoying a little bit of spring early! Check out link love vol 18 for that last little push to get you through your Friday!
1 // This amazing website shows you what it’s like to have dyslexia, it was tough for me to read but really interesting!
5 // I have spent a lot of time traveling the past few days and as a result have been able to watch a lot of movies! The top of my list is Ballet 422, even if you don’t think you like ballet this documentary about the New York City Ballet is amazing! Also completely obsessed with Spotlight, Room and The Big Short!!
I am so excited for this weekend y’all! Two of my cousins are coming to visit for the weekend and they’ll be my first visitors since I moved to San Diego, I can’t wait to see them and share a little bit of my new home with them! The weather has been incredible this week and it looks like it’s not going anywhere anytime soon, I am definitely enjoying winter in Southern California! The amazing weather the only thing getting me through the fact that I am not at fashion week this year!
Do y’all have any fun plans for Valentine’s Day this weekend? I have never been a big fan of Valentine’s Day in the traditional sense, when I studied abroad in Finland Valentine’s Day is all about friendship. It was one of my most fun Valentine’s Days to date, so I’ve tried to focus more on my friendships to avoid the pressure that surrounds this holiday! So whether you’re in a relationship or single this weekend, don’t stress, focus on your friendships and have fun on Sunday!
Before we get into link love vol 17 here’s a few random things going on around San Diego!
5. This Vanity Fair video of 29 celebrities doing a dramatic reading of Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” is everything!
I hope y’all have a fab weekend and enjoy your Valentine’s Day no matter how you’re spending it!
