Fall Casual

This weekend was nothing if not productive, lots of cleaning, errands and getting the apartment into near perfect shape so I can finally share a reveal with y’all! I tried a little home improvement experiment and attempted to install new light switches in my living room, attempted being the key word. An electrician will be by later today. Adulting is hard.

I’ve been starting my mornings across the street at the cafe next to the Cathedral to grab some tea or hot apple cider and then for a little walk around the Bishops garden. It’s such a nice way to start the day away from the craziness of the city!

The weather in DC is definitely feeling more and more like fall, hello open windows and cool breezes, but I wouldn’t mind it cooling down a bit more. We’re still having days that are chilly in the morning then 75 by lunch time. Talk about frustrating when trying to get dressed in the morning.

Fall Casual

This is a favorite go-to fall casual outfit for this type of weather, a lightweight sweater or shirt (stripes of course) and a vest that can be easily be unzipped or even tucked into my purse if it gets too warm.

I’m not a huge bag person, I have literally used the same Longchamp bag every day since I was a sophomore in college, to the point where the corners are either completely threadbare or have holes torn through them, it’s a very well loved bag. It’s not that I don’t love purses, I do, but I have a hard time spending a lot of money on them so usually I find one I love and just use it to death. I picked this bag up at the end of the Summer on a whim and I am so so happy.

First off, it’s huge. Which I love and definitely need. It fits literally everything I need without ever feeling too bulky, it’s amazing. It was also under $50 but the quality is amazing! And to complete the trifecta it’s reversible, so if I feel like mixing it up I can swap the cognac for a really pretty peach color! There are a few new colors online that I love and have me seriously considering picking up a second one. It’s professional enough to bring to work with me every day but I also love that it makes the perfect addition to my favorite fall casual look for when I’m out and about running errands.
