I didn’t quite make it apple picking this weekend, or even to a proper pumpkin patch but I did finally manage to walk down the street to this adorable pumpkin stand that popped up a few weeks ago! They have a great selection of fall decorations including pumpkins, gourds, flowers, and corn! A little while after I got there a few different families arrived with their kids, all the kids were so excited to pick out their pumpkins and talking to each other about how they were going to be carving them!
A little while after I got there a few different families arrived with their kids, all the kids were so excited to pick out their pumpkins and talking to each other about how they were going to be carving them! My sister and I used to love that when we were little, carving the pumpkins every year was always a family affair, we’d do it on a Saturday afternoon or one night after school. I have so many fun memories of my family sitting in the kitchen (I never understood why we carved the pumpkins inside, it just made for a lot of extra clean up for mum!) carving our, usually, elaborate patterns. Inevitably Alli and I would get frustrated by the one we chose and hand it over to my Dad to finish. He is the best pumpkin carver! I am a little bummed that I don’t have any outside space because I would have loved to pick up a couple of these full size pumpkins to carve or paint, or some of the gorgeous mums they had!
I did manage to snag a few of these super cute little ones to use to decorate the house a little bit! It was such a gorgeous day, I really wanted to head out of the city and do some apple picking but there’s only so much you can do in a weekend and between homecoming and my trip to Eastern Market, I was absolutely exhausted so this was a nice substitute! I’m hoping to make it apple picking next weekend instead!
What did everyone do this weekend?
