What did your alma mater do on Wednesday? I’m gonna brag a little bit about mine because The Pope came to mine and celebrated the most beautiful Mass and me and 25,000 of my closest friends were lucky enough to attend. I flew back to DC on Tuesday and spent a couple of days catching up with friends while watching the 24 hour Pope coverage on the Verizon Pope Channel (because that’s a real thing this week). It was an absolutely incredible experience from the moment I landed to the moment I left this morning! Everyone in the city was excited about His Holiness being in town, no one was working and everyone was celebrating. It was so much fun to hang out and just relax (because we definitely were not driving anywhere) and catch up with fellow alumni that had also flown in, current students, former coworkers and good friends. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience to see Papa Francisco drive in The Pope Mobile through my campus and then celebrate mass on the same steps I walked across to get my diploma a two years ago. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to say goodbye to the city that has been my home for the last 6 years!
I’m back in San Diego and finally settling in, unpacking and relaxing! I’m so excited to be here and explore my new home more, it is hot though, I will definitely miss the cooler temps of fall this year!
1. Jordan Smith covering “Chandelier” is incredible. Listen to it, then listen to it again.
2. I’m definitely going to be doing this for my new apartment!
3. Online shopping for jeans made easy! Seriously perfect!
4. A really cool story of Pope Francis’ time in at CUA as told by social media!
5. How to make your bed look like it belongs in a Pottery Barn catalog
6. Continuing the Catholic love fest, this may have been the best tailgate this week!
I hope you all have an amazing, beautiful fall weekend! For those of you in Philly and New York: good luck, it’s going to be a bit crazy but are you going to try and see The Pope? I’d love to hear your stories!
