Growing up I always wanted glasses, I always thought they were so cool, I realize this is kind of weird because my friends who did wear glasses growing up, hated them for the most part. But I just love the way they look! When I was in college, I finally got my wish, spending so much time studying and working on the computer was taking a toll on my eyes and after a trip to the eye doctor I picked out my first pair of glasses.
That was almost 9 years ago and when I bought my first pair, there weren’t many cute, affordable options. I spent a lot of time picking out my frames, knowing they’d probably be the only pair I wore until my next appointment a year later. I wasn’t in love with the frames I ended up with and as a result I tended to avoid wearing them.
In the past few years this has changed pretty dramatically, there are tons of online options to pick out frames that are affordable and cute! Glasses have become an accessory, I have 3-4 pairs I rotate between depending on what I’m wearing (and let’s be honest, whichever pair are close by when I remember to grab them) and I love adding fun new frames to my collection.
When Liingo reached out and asked me to pick a pair from their Third & Main collection I jumped at the opportunity. The frames are adorable and really affordable, bonus! When I saw the Erin frame in pink tortoise I fell in love and they have quickly become a favorite in the rotation.
I don’t usually gravitate toward such a thick frame but i love the pink mixed into the tortoise, it’s subtle and just different enough that they don’t feel like your average tortoiseshell frames!
Because I don’t need my glasses all the time (really only when I’m driving, on the computer, watching a movie etc.) I always forget how much crisper things can look with just the slight improvement, and as a result don’t wear my glasses nearly as much as I should. With this new pair though, I find myself excited to wear my glasses more often than not!
