I don’t do a lot of beauty posts on here, at all. Truth is my beauty routine is typically very simple, if I don’t have anything going on a lot of time it’s as simple as a hair tie, a swipe of mascara and a little bronzer. I put my skin through a lot in the summer, I alternate between being in the sun and being in an air-conditioned apartment or car, and both environments definitely take a toll on my skin. This summer I’ve been trying to break out of my typical routine and try different things and I’ve found some new favorites, and stuck with a few old staples!
My summer beauty essentials are still definitely extremely simple, let’s be honest, I don’t have the time or energy to put on a full face of makeup that is going to melt off within 5 minutes of leaving the house… DC is hot.
Intensive Care Aloe Lotion is my absolute favorite lotion in the entire world, I’ve been using it forever and out of every lotion I’ve tried this is my favorite and keeps my skin from getting dried and peeling in the summer time!
Face Mist is a new discovery for me, I used it for the first time this spring then again while in Bali and absolutely fell in love, it’s absolutely become a summer beauty essential for me!
Great Lash Mascara is still my favorite mascara, if I’m going out or want a more dramatic eye, I use it with a primer and another mascara but for day to day it is my favorite.
If y’all aren’t using CC Cream you are seriously missing out, its the best answer to foundation in the summer time, it gives just enough coverage without feeling too heavy and I find that it withstands even the most humid days in DC!
Tinted SPF Lip Balm is another new addition to my makeup bag this summer, I have a few colors and the untinted one, I love
While it isn’t technically a beauty product, my water bottle is an absolute summer beauty essential. I try and drink 2 gallons of water a day and it does absolute wonders for my skin.
