I cannot believe June is almost over, I feel like I blinked and missed all of spring! This year my summer wardrobe was in need of a huge upgrade so I partnered with one of my favorite brands Ann Taylor, and headed out to their new store in Tysons Corner to pick up a few new summer favorites from their new arrivals!
Working in an office that requires super professional clothes can be a struggle sometimes, especially when on a budget. I often find myself reaching toward things that work well for the office and not necessarily spending my money on clothes that work outside the office. Part of the reason I love Ann Taylor so much is because most of the pieces can be worn both in and out of the office, without sacrificing either style or professionalism.
When I saw this dress, I was instantly drawn to the bow detail on the shoulder, it’s a small detail that adds a lot to an otherwise classic little black dress. Once I put it on, I really fell in love. It is super light weight making it perfect for D.C. summers and looks about as amazing under a blazer as it does without one. And these shoes? I am absolutely obsessed, it’s hard to see in these photos but they are made of cork making them super comfortable and versatile, I wore them all weekend in Nashville and have a feeling they are going to become quite a staple in my wardrobe.
I love a good wrap dress and I was so excited to find this short sleeve one for Nashville, the detailing on the sleeves make the classic silhouette feel a little more casual and fun. It was perfect for brunch and an afternoon of shopping in Nashville!
While my focus was definitely on “desk to drinks” looks, I was so excited to find so many casual pieces I absolutely adored. I also picked up these striped shorts and these darling pineapple printed shorts that I wore in Nashville over the weekend and they as comfy as they are cute, I can’t wait to share those looks with you soon!
When adding anything to my wardrobe, I really focus on items that will travel well, meaning they are comfortable enough to wear on the plane or out exploring a new city and they don’t wrinkle too easily. I bring a steamer with me every trip I take because a few wrinkles are inevitable, but there’s nothing worse than pulling something out of a suitcase and having it be wrinkled beyond repair. After this trip to Nashville, I can happily report back that everything I picked up fit those requirements perfectly and I can’t wait to bring them with me for the rest of my summer travel!
