Emma and I were lucky enough to spend a day heading to Nusa Lembongan with WakaSailing on their catamaran and it was amazing! A lot of you recommended that I make a trip to Nusa so I was really excited to be able to partner with WakaSailing to plan this day trip!
 We were picked up from The W the morning of and brought to the harbor where we waited in the reception area with a refreshing welcome drink and the worlds cutest boarding passes and maps.
When we boarded the catamaran we both indulged in a few croissants and some more juice while we waited to set sail so we could head out to the deck for the duration of the trip!
It took about 2 hours to get to Nusa and we spent the entire 2 hours lying in the amazing nets hanging just above the water, occasionally being splashed by the sea we were very content just to soak up the sun and the surroundings from that spot. It was the perfect way to spend the morning, much better than packing into a hot and overcrowded ferry.
Once we arrived to the harbor of Nusa Lembongan we were whisked to shore in a glass bottom boat. Emma and I had our eyes basically glued to the bottom of that boat, it was so cool to see all the fish and the reef just below us. We got very excited for the incredible snorkeling we were about to do!
On shore we set up camp at the Waka Beach Club before setting off to snorkeling, which did not disappoint us at all. We had so much fun floating around and exploring the reefs below us. All this snorkeling has made me really want to get my scuba license, there’s something amazingly peaceful about being under the sea swimming among all the life on the reef.
Back to shore for lunch, which was a massive buffet of every mouth waveringly delicious Indonesian dish, including  seemingly never ending supply of satay. I was in heaven.
After way over indulging we plopped down on a couple of loungers to soak up some sun before setting off for a tour of the village on the island, including a seaweed farm.
The dark squares in the water just there are the seaweed farms, at low tide the families can plant their plots and leave them to grow for three months before harvesting them. It was a very interesting process to see.
After our tour I said goodbye to Emma, she stayed on the island for a few days of surfing, and hopped back on the catamaran. I made my way back to the net at the front of the boat and with a glass of wine in hand and enjoyed some cheese and crackers as we headed back to Bali, it was a perfect day.
A trip to Bali isn’t complete without a stop in Nusa Lembongan and I can’t recommend WakaSailing enough to make it happen! They made the whole day perfectly seamless, from booking and picking us up to dropping me back at the hotel after we were through it was an amazingly relaxing and enjoyable experience, I hope next time I’m in Bali I’ll be able to take advantage of some of their other great offerings!
