Travel Tuesday: Review of My Away Travel Bags

Review of My Away Travel Bags

Remember a couple of weeks ago in my last Travel Tuesday post I promised a full run down on my new luggage? I know you were all waiting at the edge of your seats waiting to hear all about this little combo, so here it is, plus a little bonus at the bottom of the post for you to get your own piece of Away luggage!

My Away Travel Bags

Away Travel has been on my radar practically since they came out, I have almost pulled the trigger 100 times but I’ll admit, I was hesitant because of the price. Now that I have it I think it is worth every single penny, but I’ve always been a T.J. Maxx luggage kinda gal. I get it on sale and use it until the wheels are falling off and the zipper stops working. Truly, I’ve had both those things happen more than one time.

When I got a promotion at work in September I decided to treat myself to a set, which Away calls a “uniform” and I picked up the larger carry-on size and the weekender bag. They are both perfect, but let me break down each and explain why.

The Everywhere Bag

I love this bag, I now use it almost every day as my gym bag but it’s equally as perfect for a quick 1-2 night getaway if you don’t need to pack much! For a longer trip, it’s basically become a substitution for my purse, it easily slides under the seat in front of me and leaves a comfortable amount of leg room. My favorite feature is the pocket on the back of the bag that allows it to easily slide over the handle of the carry-on to avoid any slippage when rolling through the airport.

The Bigger Carry-On

This bag. Guys, I’m obsessed. I was able to fit everything I needed for a 5 day trip a few weeks ago (including a couple bulky sweaters) but I think if you are smart about what you’re packing you could definitely do a longer trip with just this bag! The inside is separated into 2 sections so you can keep your shoes separate from your clothes. It has really helped me pack more strategically and organized, which for me is huge. Plus, if I checked the bag, the hard shell and TSA approved lock let me relax on the plane knowing whatever I’ve packed will be safe from being stolen or damaged!

I wanted to pick a fun color for the carry-on piece that would still look good with a navy set if I decided to order more pieces later on (which I definitely plan on doing!) I was a little concerned that the pink would get scuffed up and dirty too easily, but I’m happy to report that any marks the bag has received so far have come off super easy with a magic erase!

My favorite part of this suitcase is the definitely the ejectable battery. I can charge my phone on the go and when it’s time to get on the plane the battery is easy to pop right out of the suitcase and toss in my Everywhere Bag!

Overall, if you’re looking for new luggage, I can’t recommend Away enough. If you’ve been hesitant about the price like I was, you can shop here and receive $20 off your purchase!
