i love winter time, mostly because i love the holidays during the winter, the snow, skiing with friends and most importantly the adorable sweaters and other cozy clothes i get to pull out of my closet. so i’m loving this chilly weather we’ve been having down in d.c. one thing that’s always driven me crazy about d.c. is how long it takes for winter to finally hit, and now that it seems to be here i’m so excited!
every winter when i’m flipping through catalogs and window shopping i point out what seems like hundreds of sweaters to my family and friends, my mom is quick to respond by telling me i have far too many sweaters already: my response- there’s no such thing as too many sweaters. this winter has been no different, i’ve shared some of my favorite sweaters (there are just too many for me to share all of them!) for this winter.
i’m not a big sparkle person but i’ve been slowly incorporating little bits and pieces into my outfits and i think this kate spade davey sweater is a perfect way to bring some dazzle to a simple navy blue sweater.
i have this gap sweater and i love it. i’t’s so cozy and can be dressed up to wear to work or down for a cute weekend outfit with jeans or chinos.
again, i love the simple, small touch of glitz in this bailey sequin cardigan from j.mclaughlin, i think its so gorgeous and a nice addition to an otherwise classic cardigan!
j.crew has some truly unique sweaters this year, i like all the patterns they’re experiementing with but the merino tippy sweater with tile embroidery is so fun and perfect for work!
i’ve been toying with getting a poncho and/or cape for some time now and when i saw design darling’s post about this knitted poncho i fell in love. i especially like the navy one but might branch out of my comfort zone and try a different color. i’ll let you know how i style it when it gets here!
fair isle sweaters are my favorite, i love the lobsters in this one from vineyard vines! i think its such a fun addition and makes it truly new england-y. it was a birthday gift from j and i think it will get a lot of wear this winter!
what are your favorite sweaters this season?
