Valentine’s Day Experiential Gifts

Valentine's Day Experiential Gifts

I couldn’t believe it the other day when I was in the grocery store and everything Valentine’s Day was already on the shelves. Wasn’t it just Christmas last week?

I am not a big fan of Valentine’s Day, but it’s an excuse to eat conversation hearts and continue my tradition of giving my friends fun Valentine’s Day cards, you know the ones you were always so excited to pick out as a kid to give out to your entire class at school? With your favorite Disney princess on it? It’s the one part of Valentine’s Day I actually like, I don’t care if I’m 25 and they are meant for elementary school kids!

If you’re looking for some ideas for a little bit more of a grown-up way to celebrate though, I rounded up a few Valentine’s Day experiential gifts for y’all. I don’t know about you but at this stage of my life I’d much rather go out and do something fun and new with the people I love, than receive stuff.

1. Hot air balloon ride:: I think this is probably the ultimate Valentine’s Day experiential gifts. If you aren’t afraid of heights it would be an extremely fun and romantic outing! Make a day of it and find a cute spot for brunch afterwards!

2. Take a cooking class:: I love cooking classes, they are so much fun and perfect for couples or a group of girlfriends if you’re celebrating Valentines day this year! Check out your local Sur La Table store to see what classes they’re offering thistle of year. I am dying to take their Macaroon class!

3. Have a staycation:: If you’re anything like me, you rarely take advantage of all the fun things your city has to offer. Spend a weekend and book a staycation, find a hotel in town to get out of the house, have some breakfast in bed and explore your city!

4. Head to a brewery or vineyard:: Get out of the city and go spend the day at a vineyard tasting wines, be sure to check if you need to pack a picnic basket or if they have a kitchen on site! If you’re more of a beer person head to a craft brewery and try some local beer!

5. Go to a concert:: Is there a band you’ve been dying to see live? Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to grab those tickets. If not find some live music near where you live, grab dinner and go listen to someone new!

6. Go ice skating:: If you’re a little more graceful than I am, pack some cocoa and cookies and go ice skating. If you’re more like me, pack wine.

7. Find a rock gym and go rock climbing:: Rock climbing is so much fun and a great way to build trust, find an indoor rock gym and go spend the morning climbing! You’ll have a blast and get a great workout in.

8. Take a helicopter tour of your city:: See your city (or somewhere new) from a whole new angle! Similar to the hot air balloon ride, I think this would be an amazing way to spend Valentine’s Day morning. I’ve noticed loads of tour companies  popping up all over offering affordable helicopter tours, it’s definitely a unique gift that you’ll remember for a long time!

Did I miss anything? I’m always looking for new ideas so I’d love to hear what your favorite Valentine’s Day experiential gifts are!
