Fall in San Diego

Fall in San Diego

Fall in San Diego looks a lot different than I’m used to. It’s still really warm here during the day and this East Coast girl is still having a hard time figuring out what to wear when I’m heading out to dinner. The evenings are starting to cool off and feel a little more like fall and this jacket is a perfect transition piece for those cooler evenings.

This outfit has been one of my go-to’s, I love pairing the flare jeans with the simple tank and fun jacket, it’s easy, comfortable and still cool enough for Fall in San Diego! I picked up the jacket during the Nordstrom anniversary sale this summer and I am absolutely obsessed with it! I love the cut of a moto jacket, and this one is no different and with the open draped front of this one I love it even more!

It’s an absolutely perfect outfit for a night out or for the office. If you’re on the East Coast and have cooler temps than me, just swap out my mules for a pair of booties and you’re good to go!

I have a confession, I really don’t like skinny jeans, never have. In fact I didn’t buy my first pair of skinny jeans until 2 years ago, I was late to jump on the bandwagon and trade in my flares and bootcut jeans for skinny jeans and first to jump off and reach for those old favorites! These flares are everything, they are so comfortable, the flare is wide enough without being obnoxious and the length is perfection (which coming from me is high praise, I’m tall).

My dad once told me at a family Christmas party that you can never be over dressed, only underdressed. Every time I get dressed to go, pretty much anywhere, the last few weeks, those words are just on repeat in my head. I know it sounds silly but I think the wardrobe is the biggest adjustment for me with this move, especially since Fall in San Diego definitely doesn’t dictate blanket scarves and quilted vests! There are few places where shorts and flip flops are not the appropriate uniform so I definitely am sticking out like a sore thumb! I am loving the laid back culture for when I’m running errands and even in the office (more on that to come) but it’s definitely going to take some more time for me to adjust and in the mean time I’m okay with being the most overdressed girl in the room, at least I’ll be noticed!
