Life Update + A Giveaway

We’re already three months into 2018, if you can believe it! And while part of me feels like I just unpacked from our trip to Palm Springs, I’m also amazed at what a jam packed few months I’ve had so I thought I’d share a little bit of a life update plus a really great giveaway that honestly, I wish I could enter myself, scroll all the way down to enter 🙂 Since we’re a quarter of the way through the year I’m looking back at my goals for the year to see how I’m doing, and I thought I’d share this little life update to share a little bit of whats going on behind the scenes and to help me stay accountable!

Travel

I kicked off the year in one of my favorite places, California! It was my first time in Palm Springs and I absolutely fell in love with it, I’m already counting down the days until I can go back. After Palm Springs we headed to La Jolla to see some friends from when I lived out there and recharge by the beach for a few days before heading back east to face the winter. It was such an incredibly relaxing trip and the best way to recharge after a crazy holiday season and get into the right headspace before heading back to work! If you’re looking for a place to truly unplug and recharge I can’t recommend Palm Springs enough.

I also made a couple trips to NYC this winter, one for work and one for play. Both were amazing, I always forget how much I love the city until I’m there, it’s such an amazing place full of so much energy. In March, I last minute got tickets to The Cursed Child preview and it was absolutely amazing. It’s no surprise that I am and always have been a huge Harry Potter nerd so it was so much fun to see them bring the wizarding world to life on stage, it definitely lived up to the hype.

In February, I had a half marathon and 10k down in Disney that was the perfect excuse for a girls trip with one of my favorite people who I don’t get to see nearly enough and a ski trip in New Hampshire. Both trips were great ways to get out of the city and spend some time recharging outside in the sun and the fresh air with good friends!

I unintentionally front loaded a lot of travel for the beginning of the year but it was great to have so many things to look forward to, to get me through a particularly disappointing DC winter! I’m also getting ready for a trip to Paris next weekend and I cannot wait! It’s the first time I’ve been to the city in 10 years, so send me your recommendations!!

Wellness

January was pretty low key for me because I did my first ever Whole 30 and absolutely loved it! It was hard, and I feel like I was a little bit of a hermit because my social life was pretty much non existent the entire time but I completed it and felt amazing afterwards. I’ve continued to incorporate a lot of the lessons I learned during Whole 30 and have continued to be really intentional about what I’m buying/cooking/making, and I’m happy to report I’m ordering out way less than I was 3 months ago!

Another huge goal for me this year was to run more, which could just be edited to say “run at all,” while this is going to be an ongoing battle process this year, I already have a half marathon and a 10k under my belt and am currently getting ready for a 10 miler at the end of April. It has felt so good to get back into a running routine and get a few races on the books, I can’t wait to keep this going. I have to say a huge reason I’ve been able to do so well with this goal is because I also have incorporated Orange Theory into my routine and I am completely hooked, more on that soon I promise! But for now, if you’ve been tempted to try Orange Theory, do it!! Don’t be intimidated or think you are too out of shape, just sign up and go, your first class is free and it really is incredible!

At Home

I am in full blown home project mode and have been for the last month or so, redecorating, reorganizing and renovating my bathroom and kitchen. It’s a process, I’m doing it in stages because budgets, but it’s been a lot of fun to start to see my vision come to life and continue to make my condo really feel like home. I can’t wait to share the final products with you!

On The Blog

It’s been so great reconnecting with so many of you on here and producing content again. I know it’s been a bit of a slow drip but it’s been good to get back into the habit of writing and shooting! I cannot wait to get back from Paris with allll the things to share with y’all!

I’ll also be relaunching all of my travel guides from the past few years in the next couple of months, they got a pretty major facelift over the last year and I’ve been working on updating all of them so they are easier to find and navigate. I’ll also be sharing a huge D.C. guide soon so stay tuned for that!

How are you doing with your 2018 goals? Heading into a new quarter is the perfect time to sit down and revisit and reset your intentions for the year, I’d love to hear what you’re doing to stay on track!

Now for the fun stuff, I’ve teamed up with some other amazing bloggers to bring you this amazing giveaway! I have had my eye on that bag for a solid 2 years now, so I’m super jealous that one of you will have the opportunity to take it home!
